East Hampton Golf Course is the 40
year dream of the Bistrian family. Pete Bistrian, who owned and
farmed potatoes on part of the land, first envisioned a golf course
on the property in the mid-1940’s. In 1978, ground was broken.
While it was a long wait before the course became a reality under
Coore/ Crenshaw’s masterful guidance, the result is praiseworthy. “The
Bistrian family wanted us to do the best for this property-and for
golf,” Crenshaw attests. “We had a good time designing East Hampton
and I think the layout presents a challenging mix of holes.”
